LEGISLATIVE ISSUES ROUND TABLE
We all know we should be involved in public policy issues. Here is another chance to take that next step.

James Tunnell and Kathy Langdon are working on a great agenda that will probably include: Senate President Ken Bennett (confirmed), a report from the Citizens Finance Review Commission, and moving our grass roots efforts to the next level.
We will meet on Monday, August 18th at the Hassayampa Inn, in Prescott. There is no registration fee to attend this meeting, but Please fill out the enclosed registration form and fax it to the ACE office.

SALARY/BENEFIT SURVEY
The format has changed a bit, but it still includes most of the same questions. Please complete the survey and fax or mail it to the ACE Office on or before August 30th. Only the chambers that participate in the survey will receive a copy of the survey. Survey’s are distributed at the General Meeting at the Annual Conference. If you have any questions, please call Deanna at (480) 890-7259.SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
Arizona Chamber Executives gives out at least $5000 in scholarships to the Institute for Organization Management and the Western Association of Chamber Executives’ Annual Conference each year. If you have been a President/CEO or Executive Director for 1 year (prior to the Institute or WACE Conference) you are eligible to apply. Please complete the application and return it to the Scholarship Chairman, Jack Camper before August 15th. Institute and WACE are great programs, if you have not attended you are missing out on some great career building opportunities.

CONFERENCE BID PACKETS
If you are interested in hosting one of the ACE Conferences in 2004, please fill out the Conference Bid Application and Checklist.
The Annual Conference is usually held the fourth week of October outside of the Phoenix area. For the Spring Workshop, held this year in May, we try to stay in the Valley area.
As you can see from the guidelines, the host does not have too much responsibility. Just have a hotel with a conference room big enough for us, and want to show off your community!
Bid packets must be received by the ACE office no later that October 15, 2003 so they can be presented at the board meeting during the Annual Conference.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Conference Chair, Lisa Krueger is working on a great agenda for this year’s conference. We will be meeting in Flagstaff, October 22-24 at the Day’s Inn on Route 66. Lisa has taken your suggestions from the workshop evaluations and put together a great conference. Just so you have time to plan, the Thursday Banquet and Auction will be held at a 50’s Diner called “The Galaxy” right across the street from the Day’s Inn. So get out those poodle skirts and saddle shoes!! We will have lots of fun!!
